About

Chelsea Summers is a Singer/Songwriter currently living and working in Nashville, TN.

In the words of Grammy-winner Linda Davis (and mother of Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum), Chelsea is "a new star on the rise!"

Chelsea was born in Pittsburgh, PA. She moved with her family to the South Carolina Lowcountry when she was in the fourth grade. Chelsea started teaching herself to play guitar at 13-years old with the help of several YouTube guitar gurus. Her first live performance was at the Coastal Carolina Fair talent show.

After performing at more local talent shows, and singing for "too many charity events to count," word quickly got around that there was a "young female music talent in Summerville, SC.” Before too long, Chelsea started getting paid to play at various music venues around Summerville and Charleston. From there, word continued to spread and Chelsea found herself being a very in-demand acoustic performer, often playing several times per week.

At 15, Chelsea won an online contest through TopBlip.com (now Gigg.com), to open for one of her favorite bands, Parachute. The show was held at Ziggy's in Winton-Salem in front of more than 800 fans. At the end of 2013 she opened for national act ZZ Ward at the Altar Bar and Matt White at the Hard Rock Cafe in her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA.

Chelsea started spending more time in Nashville, TN (a.k.a. Music City and/or Nash Vegas), where she was lucky enough to have been chosen as 1 of only 50 songwriters nationwide to attend NSAI's Advanced Songwriting Camp.

Chelsea won her first talent competition during the Charlotte Music Awards 2014 Women in Country Showcase. As a result of the victory, she was nominated for a HMMA award for her song “Reckless Kind of Love” and performed at The Mint in Los Angeles in November of 2014.

Also in 2014, Chelsea opened for YouTube sensation Tyler Ward at the Altar Bar in Pittsburgh. She was showcased on the Piedmont Gas Float during The Charlotte, NC Thanksgiving Day Parade. Chelsea was also Chris Lane's opener at the famed Music Farm in downtown Charleston, SC for the official Florida-Georgia Line after-concert party.

She made a trip back up to Pittsburgh to play Pittsburgh's well-known Stage AE (adjacent to Heinz Field) to help kick-off the University of Pittsburgh's football season immediately preceding their home opener on August 30, 2014. The next day, Chelsea opened for the Eli Young Band at Heinz Field as a part of Heinz RibFest hosted by The Pittsburgh Steelers.

Chelsea ended 2014, her “year of hustle and bustle,” by relocating to Nashville, TN in December. Although she has played some larger corporate-sponsored events at venues including Hard Rock Nashville since moving to TN, she is primarily focused on her song-writing career and writes over 100 songs per year. She has co-written with several hit and up-and-coming songwriters, creating a versatile catalog of unique country music. Her songs have been pitched to many well-known performing artists including Jake Owen, Billy Currington and more.

Chelsea is an independent songwriter, meaning that she has not been signed to a publishing company. However, she continues to receive regular invitations into publishing companies such as Sony ATV, MV2, SMACKSONGS, DuneGrass, RiverHouse/MakeWake, etc. to collaborate with their signed writers. Chelsea is currently looking for her future songwriting/publishing home.

You can catch Chelsea Summers live during “Writers Rounds” in several venues in and around the Nashville, TN area.
